One of the Unfortunate Events

Well, I finally came out with a solution to fix my car with  masking tape!

Yeah, I almost mummified my door.IMG_3167Entering from the passenger side, I drove out to look for any car workshop as near as possible. Though the masking tape feels secured but I don’t wanna risk it. Fortunately, I saw some spare parts shop in Seapark and got the spare handle for RM 8 then head to the nearest workshop to get them fix. Total spent: RM 30

Well, nice work! If I were to call a tow car, the service itself will easily cost me RM 70. Yeay, extra money to beer + drinks bank! God will always leave the window open even if He closes the door.

A few years ago, blogger Jimmie Rodgers's camera was stolen while volunteering in an impoverished Brazilian community, so he did what any sane person would do: He bought an new camera and made it ugly.

With his uglified camera, Rodgers was able to snap pictures freely during the rest of his trip without worrying too much that his ostensibly crappy camera would end up stolen.

Now you know why I got my camera scratched all over.

It’s a Canon 870 IXUS, considered new model.

May – my month

Five – 5 has always been my favorite number but lately those things that I thought will be my lucky chance with the label 5 turns out to be very disappointing.

Today, the 25th.

My car door handle broke when I was heading to class. Well, I had to hold on to the car handle and drive slow so that I won’t get flung out of the car. The problem now is I’m thinking of how and where can I fix it without alerting my family. I’ve given enough problem lately, don’t think it is the best time for me to voice out any imperfections.

I had the almost perfect relationship (at least I thought so)  but I ruined it by complaining over small matters which doesn’t really matter. I guess this teaches me a lesson on how to handle relationships better in the future.

My best friend just lost someone really close to her, forever.

But still, there is something to celebrate about in my month. The toughest time, weird too (haven’t experience it in 2 years), my friends are around to support me. Thanks, guys!

Every morning I wake up telling myself to appreciate the people and things around me more. I can’t afford to lose anyone, anymore.

Lesson learned: never again to say irresponsible words. There is not turning back! Now, I should learn how to love myself and think of a way to fix my car handle. images

hugs therapy

We need 4 hugs a day for survival. We need 8 hugs a day for maintenance. We need 12 hugs a day for growth
—Virginia Satir, family therapist

Yeah, it does sounds weird, huh?

Reaching out and touching someone, and holding him tight—is a way of saying I care. Its effects are immediate: for both, the hugger and the person being hugged, feel good.

Somehow I find myself having some similarities with the untalkative bunny friendly friend but for me, only selective individual.

Oppss, got scooped out…

Wee?

Setting up…

Vodka on the stairs…no play play. Well, for a person who has slight acrophobia, only the fierce Yuki is able to get him up there to get a nice angle of me. IMG_2833Yuki checking out the shotsIMG_2835    Behind the scene…

A little intense at first cause we cannot find the right lighting. It is Vodka’s first try on moody lighting.

And later, I had to climb on the stairs too. Not too high…I’m clumsy, so, tendency to fall is pretty high. Plus, I don’t have insurance!

The shoot lasted a little longer than I thought, but it is all worth when the result is out.

Thank you for NOT smoking

Ever since my last visit to Singapore, I was looking forward that the next big thing in KL would to the same thing like ban smoking in public places. Here are the top ten reasons this law rules:

10. No need for a full body scrubdown after a Friday night out.

9. If you’re not holding a cig, you can hold another beer.

8. Save shampoo for long hair, ciggy smell stays in your hair unless you wash it at least 3 times.

7. You won’t have to worry about the black lung.

6. The only hot butt in the room will be yours.

5. Febreeze will no longer be your signature scent.

4. Guys will be forced to actually ask for your number, rather than bum a cig then hang around ’til last call being awkward.

3. You can take that RM 9 and buy something nice for yourself. Like three bottles of Listerine.

2. Manicurists for miles will be thankful for the demise of the yellow nail.

1. Clearer skin + healthier heart = totally smokin’.

These are some really awesome ads. You have any creative ones? Let me know!

There are two kinds of people in this world: those who plan their costumes for weeks and those who panic and wear a lampshade at the last minute.

Obviously, I am the last minute kind. Like the Martha Stewart of Halloween, make a last-minute costume out of stuff I already have.

What I need: red, green, yellow, white, orange, and blue articles of clothing.
Who I am: Rubik’s Cube.

What I need: regular clothes, badge.
Who I am: undercover cop.

What I need: all-white outfit with white cloth over it and red “No entry” sign.
Who I am: Casper, the friendly neighbor ghost.

What I need: Jeff’s black king sized bed sheet.
Who I am: Dementor, Harry Potter.

After much struggling with my wardrobe, I manage to pull out a Hello Kitty look matching my partner in crime, Renee who is going as cross dressed Mickey Mouse. It’s a cat-and-mouse thing.

Arriving at the 3rd floor of Prince Hotel, two elegantly dressed woman gave us a weird stare. Then, we saw the ballroom were a sit down formal dinner. WTH?! *PANIC*

Thinking this would be a prank of the year yet!

Luckily, it wasn’t a prank. The room for the party is further down. Phew~!

Birthday boy! IMG_2969Such a sweet birthday surprise, his brother and sister from abroad dressed up as Wolverine and Sylar and made a video for him.

And everyone thought I am Minnie Mouse instead. Oh well, better than lampshade huh?

Best dress: Yellow Inflatable!IMG_2979

Happy birthday Eddy!!!

Sweet temptations

An unsuspecting boyfriend enters his house to the sound of muffled lip smacking. Flinging open the bedroom door, he discovers his girlfriend doubled over in pleasure and surrounded by empty, elegant untied ribbon boxes.

BF: What’s going on here!?

GF: So tasty. I can’t control myself. It’s Godiva.

BF: Da, I thought you were satisfied?

GF: Me, too. Until I found out what this Lady Godiva can do with her hands. Creme brulee truffles! Creamy smooth praliné in a white chocolate heart! Hazelnut praliné!

BF: Stop! You’re too much!

GF: No, it is never too much of fine chocs. They are always fresh, and are usually less sweet and feature unusual textures and natural flavors. Plus, with crispy hazelnut pralinĂ© with small pieces of feuilletine in a triangular milk chocolate shell strewn with caramelized hazelnuts pieces, she’s richer than you’ll ever be.

BF: Well, I know one thing she can’t do.

GF: Yeah, right. She hits the sweet spot every time.

Growing up in a chinese family, Genting Highland is a hot spot for holidays. Well, those were the days my sister would bring me around play with rocking pirate machines or merry-go-round. Then, the high speed and impact bumper car.

During the teenage years, friends would go all the way just to enjoy coffee in cool weather. Now?

Fly~!!!

Well, it is a sky diving simulator…I never thought I’d play with it coz I don’t see a point of being blown by a huge air ventilator. But after trying it… RM 50 (hotel guest)/ RM 80 (normal) is totally worth it! For the first time in life, I AM FLYING, for real!

fly Tips: Keep your mouth shut at all times when you’re in the vent. =D

Eat~!!!

The Bakery – Right next to the entrance of Maxims (used to be Hotel Genting)

Recommendation:

Genting grown vegetable – Baby Honey Salad is the best.

Genting Garden grown vegetable – Baby Honey Salad RM 9IMG_2774Fruit tart is not to be missed as well. RM 9IMG_2772

Coffee Terrace – Next to The Bakery

A style that suits every category from 7 years old to 70 years old…Buffet!

All sorts of food – Local, Japanese, English, Korean, International.

Okonomiyaki – Japanese pancake with meat, soba, egg, sprouts, special sauce! It is as good as those I tasted in okonomiyaki specialty stores. IMG_2759

Not forgetting the most famous dish of all times. Hainan Chicken Rice.IMG_2760

Stay~!!!

First World Hotel – Deluxe Room, Theme Park view. Looking at the park alone got me excited to get myself onto the rides, Corkscrew especially!

IMG_2751 Watch~!!!

One day of the year, all workers get celebrated…Well, students with part time job like me also tumpang holiday.

Yeay, cheers for those who worked hard throughout the year!!!IMG_2764Fireworks display for about 10 mins starting 11.45pm 30/4/09 at the open carpark in front of Maxims and Highland Hotel.

Of course, the highlight of this trip was the Dreamz, the only show on earth which brings white lion, white tiger and white cub.

The very playful white cublion cub Well, it is not the first time I watch this show but I still find it amusing.

Aerous – the white lion licked on my hand. Yup, I’m very lucky. David, the trainer was there feeding him and I was playfully hitting its paw. Obviously, my hand is more appealing than the red meat. =P

Not much pictures on the second day cause I fell sick. Constance and Daniel had to carry me to the car. Sigh…next time maybe.

Conclusion

What? I need a break from the hot city

When? Anytime. Within an hour from where am I.

Where? 6118 ft above…Genting Highland, Pahang

Why? It’s not just the casino, there are lots more to do!

How?

Drive 51km from KL on Karak Highway = est. time 45 mins

Taxi – RM 80 / car

Genting Bus – RM 8.30 / pax From KL Sentral, Puduraya, One Utama Bus frequency is about every 30 mins or hourly. Then, you get to ride on the world fastest cable car with a scenic view of rain forest.
